5. Get all promises written on paper

Some HR people would go the extra mile to make promises about job timings, conditions, sending you to a foreign country for training, raise after a particular period of time, etc., but miserably fail at the time of delivering on that promise.

As a standard practice you should ask them to put all these on paper and make it part of your offer letter. I know it sounds a bit odd to make such a demand, but look at it this way; what if tomorrow the person making the promise leaves the organization or worst; if that person completely denies making such a promise. What do you do then?

Therefore, it’s best to get this in black and white and be made part of your offer letter.

6. Do you have to sign a bond?

If you have to sign a bond, you need to consider the amount of the bond. What if tomorrow you don’t enjoy working with the organization and want to quit. But you cannot if you have a bond on your employment contract.

You should look at the amount of the bond. Don’t make the mistake to accept any bond price because of your excitement to join a particular organization. Don’t let your emotions influence your logic. Think about this for a minute; if you don’t enjoy the job or feel that this job does not meet your career growth plans and if you wish to quit in the middle; will some other company buy your bond. Recent trend shows that companies do buy bonds; only if the bond price is not too expensive.

I hope you understand why you need to consider the bond and also its price.

Conclusion
Being selected in an interview out of the hundreds of candidates is a big achievement in itself and its OK to be excited about it. But don’t let your emotions influence your logic. Be calm and composed; this will ensure that you meet career goals without an regrets of careless mistakes. I wish best for your careers.
